In the middle of the summer, 2003, a significant part of North America went literally "dark". The second worst power outage in our history was not caused by a cyber-attack. Nor was it related to our first outbreak of a then little know "severe acute respiratory syndrome" or SARS outbreak in Canada.
But that year was a portent for a most unprecedented and unexpected 2020. As we now emerge into a new season of our lives with ever expanding challenges, the accessibility, integrity and confidentiality of the systems and data held in trust by governments to ensure critical services is now more than ever a vital mission for public institutions.
